They have completed a new head of navigation and are about to start building a new slipway onto it which will be finished in the spring.
To celebrate this they will be having a grand opening ceremony on the 3rd July, 2010, when the local dignitaries will be attending to inspect the restoration progress.

Picture shows Chris Hayes Chair of SNT and County Councilor Eddie Poll cutting the slipway tape. Plent of people and press present listening to the band and enjoying Tastes Of Lincolnshire Produce from the stands.

Picture shows first boat down the slip through the bridge with SNT member John Lower and Trust Engineer Dave Pullen, who on behalf of the Lincs Waterway Partnership managed the project:-

1794 - Canal Opened!
1878 - The Act of Abandonment on the Sleaford Navigation passes.

1970 onwards -
1977 - Sleaford Navigation Society formed
1987 - Bottom Lock Re-opened!
1990 - began restoration of Cobblers Lock.
1992 - began clearance work on Cogglesford Lock in Sleaford.
1994 - Cobblers Lock restoration completed.
1997 - Sleaford Navigation Society disbanded, and reformed in the Sleaford Navigation Trust.
2004 - The Sleaford Navigation Trust purchased the Slea, from the Hub at Navigation Yard to Bone Mill Lock.
